History of
Huntly Station, Clermont
Huntly Droughtmasters was founded by Edward and Catherine Barton of Clermont in 1962, making it a third generation owned stud. The stud originated when classifiers from the breed’s founding committee selected 25 Brahman/Shorthorn cross heifers from the Huntly herd making the stud the 23rd to be registered.

When you go with Huntly’s genetics, you get versatility, fitness for climate, fertility, and weight for age, and with 150 years, and six generations of Australian beef industry history involvement you can trust our genetics are in it for the long-haul.
I purchased several Huntly Droughtmaster bulls to add to my herd a few years ago and they have added much needed versatility and climate-readiness to my operation. I would recommend their stud cattle to anyone who operates in more difficult environments like central or north Queensland.
